Which GAF Warranty is right for me?

When you buy GAF roofing shingles and qualifying accessories, you automatically get the GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty. It’s a great coverage option for any manufacturing defects. Check out the GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty for all the details.

Do I need to register my GAF warranty?

Nope! The GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty and the GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty don’t require registration. Just hang on to your proof of purchase in case you need to file a claim. Enhanced warranties like the System Plus Limited Warranty do require registration, but your GAF Certified Contractor will handle that for you.

Where can I find a list of GAF products eligible for a Lifetime limited warranty?

What are the benefits of the GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty?

When you install a GAF Roofing System, you’ll get the same coverage as the Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty, plus Lifetime coverage on your Qualifying Accessory Products. What does the System Plus Limited Warranty offer?

The System Plus Limited Warranty gives you the same coverage as the GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty, but with an extended Smart Choice Protection Period of 50 years and tear-off included. See the System Plus Limited Warranty for all the details.

What are the benefits of the Silver Pledge Limited Warranty?

The Silver Pledge Limited Warranty offers all the coverage of the System Plus Limited Warranty, plus 10 years of workmanship coverage and disposal when needed. Take a look at the Silver Pledge Limited Warranty for all the details.

What does “Lifetime Limited Warranty” mean?

The “Lifetime” in our warranty means that as long as you, the original owner or properly transferred second owner, own the property, you’re covered. Keep in mind, this warranty is only applicable to single-family detached residences owned by individuals. Other types of owners and buildings have a warranty length of 40 years.

What’s covered for defects in GAF Products?

If GAF approves your warranty claim for a manufacturing defect during the Smart Choice Protection Period, we’ll provide replacement products and cover the full reasonable cost of labor for installation. After the Smart Choice Protection Period, labor costs are not covered, and the amount of replacement products will be adjusted based on usage since installation.

Looking for coverage for workmanship? 

Look no further! Our Golden Pledge and Silver Pledge Limited Warranties have you covered. They offer protection against misapplication of our products and flashings at key areas of your roof. Concerned about algae? 

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered there too. Our warranties cover shingles and accessories, ensuring you’re protected against algae discoloration. Our StainGuard Plus™-labeled shingles, ridge cap shingles, and StarterMatch® starter strip shingles come with a 25-year limited warranty and 10-year non-prorated period against algae. Looking for even more coverage? Purchase our enhanced warranty through a GAF certified-contractor and you could be eligible for a 15-year non-prorated period.

Worried about wind damage? 

Our warranties have wind coverage too. Whether it’s shingles or ridge cap shingles, you’re protected for 15 years. We’ll reimburse you for the reasonable costs of replacing damaged shingles or ridge cap shingles and even hand-seal any unsealed ones.

Want the ultimate wind warranty? 

Our WindProven Limited Wind Warranty has no maximum wind speed limitation. To qualify, just install our LayerLock-labeled shingles and four qualifying accessory products. Check out our website for all the details.

But wait, there’s more! It’s important to note what’s not covered by your GAF Warranty. Any issues not related to manufacturing defects or misapplication are not covered. This includes improper ventilation, so be sure to discuss that with your roofing contractor.
